Give Thanks ~ Day 19

Another day in the 'Give Thanks' Challenge... Only 11 days left! I can't believe how fast this month is going!

In between studying, I had the opportunity to chat with several dear college friends today... And by far the highlight was a short and simple chat where my friend reminded me to fix my eyes on Christ. She reminded me to find my identity and worth in Him and to live "as unto the Lord" (Colossians 3:23) regardless of my physical circumstances and surroundings.

As I've struggled to figure out what life looks like beyond school next year, it was a welcome reminder to do as Paul commands in the beginning of Hebrews 12:

"...let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."
~Hebrews 12:1-2

~(Okay this might sound weird, but the writers reading this will understand ;))  The characters in my stories.  They're like family--I love them no matter what they do (even the villains!), and they teach me a lot of lessons.  (And I know some of you who don't understand are like, "Umm, doesn't she make up her characters?"  And while that's sorta true, I don't really make up everything that happens to them.  It just happens.)
